In 2022 my desk phone rang. To my surprise the person calling, an AALAS Past-President, was asking me to serve as District 8 Trustee. Having seen a bit of the work that entails as the Alternate At-Large a few years earlier, I was excited and honored to say Yes. I was even more honored when I won the election. ​

Since being voted in as the D8 Trustee I've tried to open communication between branches.

• I helped facilitate the meetings that brought the 2024 District 8 meeting in Seattle to fruition.

• I've acted as Sponsor for new and returning AALAS members.

• I've been appointed the liaison for the Educational Resources Committee, helping to edit the LATG and ALAT manuals and flashcard questions.

• I was able to speak for the Branches when the new AALAS site rolled out. ​

I'm not done yet!

While late 2023 and early 2024 focused on the D8 meeting, I'm now shifting my sight to improving communication among the D8 branches and represented states such as Hawaii and Alaska.

This website is just the first of many steps I plan to take this year to foster engagement and connection between members, as well as Branches.
